Broadband Genie introduces 22Mbps broadband

Super-fast broadband is now available from Broadband Genie ( http://www.broadbandgenie. co.uk ), the comparison specialist which allows consumers to compare broadband online. This latest offering is courtesy of UK Online, which is now offering breakneck broadband speeds of up to 22Mbps (some 400 times faster than traditional dialup)



But Broadband Genie is warning consumers not to get carried away by the sudden surge in broadband speeds. Philip Wilkinson, Broadband Genie CEO, said:



"ADSL2+ technology is undoubtedly going to provide the UK with faster broadband, but consumers should be aware that these new super-fast speeds are only currently available to a fraction of the population. The broadband speed available to you depends on such things as how close to a telephone exchange you live.



"Anyone considering buying broadband or changing provider should also bear in mind that speed is not the be-all-and-end-all: other vital considerations include price, usage limits, and extras such as free modems, PC security, and so on.
