Diuretics - Not Worth Their Weight In Water
I am Dr. Patrick Flanagan, and this is my Doctor Health Secrets
newsletter.
I am a scientist with over 300 inventions related to health,
longevity and medicine. This newsletter installment is about
rapid weight loss programs and what effect they have on your
body.
Diuretic is No Miracle
Wanna lose ten pounds in two days? Most of us would, but seeing
as how this medical anomaly is unrealistic and unattainable,
what is the deal with all of these diet guarantees that seem to
offer salvation for the weight loss challenged? Can any of those
products really hold the key to a thinner you?
My research says a resounding, "no." But please realize that
these miraculous dieting solutions may initially yield the
desired number on your body weight scale, but in the long run,
they do nothing more than damage the body on a cellular and
emotional level.
It's Water Under The Cellular Bridge
As I said previously, the little number, or in your mind, the
big number, on your scale may have decreased when you or someone
you know participated in one of these fad diets, but the results
are not meant to last. The typical diet, which involves nothing
more than drinking a strange, juice- like concoction for two
days, seems to enable its users to lose a significant amount of
weight in next to no time, and aside from starving for two days,
people generally seem to be thrilled with their results. Here in
lays the problem.
Yes, you appear to be much thinner, but in your ritualistic
starvation of your body, you have done nothing more than
eliminate the body of water weight and cause your metabolism to
slow down, which means that you will ultimately gain back even
more weight. These "diets" merely act as diuretics, which push
water out of the body at a rapid pace. This water release causes
the kidneys to work overtime, and can damage the kidneys if not
enough water is present. There are medical conditions that
require the use of
diuretics, but over-the-counter use for
dieting purposes is not safe.
Having too little water in the body can lead to the buildup of
toxic chemicals, and if these chemicals are not sufficiently and
thoroughly eliminated from the body, death can occur. The longer
people go with these toxins in their bodies, the harder it is to
eliminate them. Heart disease, obesity, diabetes, rheumatoid
arthritis, stomach ulcers, hypertension, cancer, MS,
Alzheimer's, and many other diseases can result more rapidly
from long-term dehydration at the cellular level.
Solvable Solutions
Many people feel that when they drink water that the after
effects are that of bloating and discomfort. Even more people
complain that the amount of water that is "recommended" to
maintain a healthy body is both painful to gulp down as well as
time consuming. Most often, the water that people drink has an
incredibly high surface tension. This means that the cells have
a hard time actually absorbing the water that one does drink,
which leads to both bloating and the need to drink a lot more
water than is really necessary. A simple solution to this
problem is to explore low surface tension water.
Though most tap and bottled water has high surface tenions,
there are ways to make water more available to your body's cells.
Silica is a natural mineral and special forms of microcluster®
silica are small enough to change the absorption properties of
water. Ask your vitamin store for it.
