Faddy Exercise Machines.
Hands up whose bought an exercise machine? I'm not talking about rowing machines or treadmills these are great machines, with very valid uses. I'm talking about what I call ‘lifestyle exercise equipment’; machines that are designed to work on a specific part of your anatomy. Machines that tell you that in just 5 minutes 3 times a week they will give you abs like Bruce Lee.
It's not going to happen.
These machines pander to your vanity, the pictures on the boxes show models stripped to the waist with physiques carved out of stone. I'll tell you something; they didn't get it using those machines. The cover models on the boxes get it from 5 day a week 4 hours a day exercise regimes, with carefully controlled food intake.
That's the really annoying aspect of it all, on their infomercials with budgets in the hundreds of thousands, you see in the background people with ‘perfect’ model bodies and great tans ‘working out’ on the latest
exercise sensation. These half hour long presentations often only pay a passing mention to one of the main reasons for sustained and healthy weight loss; the importance of what you eat and calorie control.
Did you know that if you really want to see your abs, you know – get yourself a great six-pack; you have to get your body fat down to around 7 to 10 percent. Let me tell you that if you normally tuck a shirt in and then play it out around your waist to hide your belly, then you are probably a way off.
What it all boils down to is if you want to achieve better health the latest fad isn't going to help you. It really comes down to hard work and commitment. Think about it it's the only way you really achieve anything in life, by setting a goal and working until you achieve it.
