Gucci purses, designer accessories, status quo for those with money and those who pretend like they do. Where did it all start? Via Condotti, Rome was home to the first shop opened in 1938 by Guccio Gucci. By 1947 Guccio had brought us the instantaneously recognizable Gucci icon. The leather bag with the bamboo handle. Popularity rose during the 1960's, when Hollywood stars such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn made Gucci Chic. High end too steep, afraid of auctions, there is always a knock-off. Gucci purses, along with other well-known brand names have become known for knock-off’s.
