14 Tips for a Good Life
14 Tips for a Good Life
Your life depends to a great extend on your life habits. Your daily life habits determine the quality of your life in terms of health and general well being. Good life habits ensure your body’s ability to combat sickness and stay younger than your real age and feel good and happy. The way we think and behave determines how good a life we will lead. Below are 14 tips to develop better life habits to help you enjoy your good life.
1. Replace Negative Thoughts with Positive Ones Our lives and the circumstances we live in are largely the result of our own thoughts and beliefs. The sum total of our thoughts, if they are positive, will result in a positive life for us. The reverse is just as true. If we think negatively most of the time, we tend to attract negative circumstances into our life. If you think you can handle a situation, then you can.
2. Use Your Conscious Mind As A Gatekeeper And Do That All The Time To be precise, our subconscious mind cannot differentiate the good from the bad because our subconscious mind largely represents our mind in its natural state – a mind that is pure and non-judgmental. Be more mindful, be more alert so that you’ll make less mistakes, think before you move and be happier.
3. Open Your Heart to Love Many people live a life without love and often this kind of life is miserable and meaningless. They cannot love themselves, so they also cannot love anyone else or they even think they don’t deserve love. The sad fact is that without love, no matter what else you have in life, it's not enough. We need to love ourselves unconditionally in order to live a good and full life.
4. Have Faith and Believe in Yourself Do not doubt yourself, do not fear and always believe in abundance. As long as we have doubt or fear, we will not be able to walk our path. Take the action and walk the path to success and enjoy the fruits you deserve.
5. Be Fully Responsible And Accountable for Your Life Quite often, when something goes wrong, we have the tendency to find someone or something to blame. This is very unhealthy in deed. I often heard others said “I thought …”. In future avoid say ‘I thought’, a mistake is a mistake, take the responsibility and learn from it. We reap what we sow.
6. Attitude of Gratitude and Altruistic Joy Adopt a positive attitude, in order to transform ourselves and live a good life. Remember, we bring nothing to this world when we come to life, so the world does not owe us anything. Be happy with what you have and not be unhappy about what you don’t have. Be thankful for whatever small thing or gift you receive. Altruistic joy is a concept borrowed from the Buddhists. It is a habit of rejoicing in the happiness and success of others. People who have the habit of practicing altruistic joy focus their mind on happiness and success, thus attracting these two things into their own life. In contrast, if we were to have ill-will towards others, we will be attracting more corresponding negative situations into our own life.
7. Setting the Mood For the Day The first hour of your day strongly determines how your entire day would turn out. If you start off the day grumpily or angrily, you’re likely to end up with a totally grumpy or angry day unless you are
alert enough to catch the mood and actively choose to discard it. If you encounter some problem from work, drop it just outside the door before you step into your house. Go to bed early and wake up early. Do not bring issues and problem with you to bed.
8. Specialized Knowledge and / or experience Whatever it is you want to be, you must acquire the specialized knowledge or skills required for it. Otherwise, your wish is just wishful thinking. You need to make the right decision, make your plan and take the appropriate action.
9. Exercise regularly and sensibly Regular sensible exercises keep you fit, alert and strong. Regular exercises helps blood circulation and need I say more?
10. Stay Employed or Occupied Even if you have to take some time off work to adjust to a new situation, try to work part-time, stay occupied or full-time. Keeping a job is a good way to stay active.
11. Food You are what you eat. Take a balanced diet, not just eat abundance of what you like and little of other food in order to give your body the balanced amount of nutrition required to maintain a healthy body. Avoid too much hamburger burgers. Plain boiled water is good, cola is not good. Listen to your doctor’s advice if you are sick. For example people with diabetic issues should know what can be taken and what need to be avoided. Avoid heavy food at least 3 hours before going to bed. Avoid alcohol, take more vegetables, more fruits and fish. 12. Helping Others The more you give the more you will get in return. Those who help others are also helping themselves. For example, if a consultant helps others in need by giving help and information, he is actually gaining trust from whom he helped and eventually people will like to do business with him.
Contributing to society is an important aspect of good life. By helping others within your means to help those who are less fortunate is our obligation to society. If you do that consistently, you will feel good about yourself and your fortune will grow even further because more people will be attracted to you.
Money likes to befriend people who already have abundance of it! Give generously to society, let money flow like water. I like what the famous property tycoon of Hong Kong, Mr. Lee Ka Shing said, "no matter how much money a person has, he only take a 3 meals a day and sleep on one bed!".
13. Relationship The fact that relationship whether it is dating or married is hard. Things do not go perfectly right most of the time. Say “I love you” more, and don’t under estimate the ‘power of touch’. Avoid heated quarrel, no one wins a quarrel. The one who thinks he wins a quarrel lose the respect of the other. Put your family first and your career second if you need to make a critical decision. For more tips, click here.
14. Stay In Touch This is an information age, a digital age, the age of dramatic change. Stay on the Internet, be informed, and don’t lose touch! Visit Good Life regularly, be our friend, make more friends, expand your reach to other good communities, share your thoughts with others and be happy.
