Better Health and Happiness for Your Baby
The design of your home has an amazing affect on the health and well being of your baby. If it is in harmony with nature, it will have a positive influence on young children. If not, problems will become apparent in subtle and ways.
According to the science of Vastu Shastra, all five elements (earth, water, fire, air and space) have an impact on your baby’s room. Vastu Shastra is an ancient architectural science that balances the five elements within one’s environment and supports the growth of strong, happy babies. Due to their size and developing immune system, infants are far more susceptible to the consequences of poor air quality and indoor pollutants than adults.
Over the years, I have seen how flooring, decorating materials, mattresses, toys, molds, toxic gases, pesticides and electronic equipment can all degrade the air an infant breathes, even if you, as an adult are not affected.
Epidemiological studies suggest a link between pollutants and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). In 1966, a New Zealand chemist, T.J. Sprott, began a study of over 100,000 babies. None of the children were exposed to toxic off-gasing from mattresses. None of the babies died of SIDS. In 1988 a British chemist, Barry Richardson, performed a study on mattresses of children who died of SIDS. Of the 200 mattresses tested, he found all emitted chemical nerve gas agents such as phosphine, arsine or stibine when brought to blood body temperature.
This is a shocking example of what dangers can be lurking in your home, unbeknownst to you. In this situation, what you can’t see can harm you and your baby. Knowledge is power. Becoming aware of what you can do to protect your children is the best preventative measure. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of reading all labels carefully to determine the safety of any materials that you use around your baby.
Another factor that I’ve seen impact infants and young children is called Geopathic Stress. This occurs when radiation follows lines of underground utilities and streams. These utility lines or pipes often intersect under bedrooms, influencing your infant’s ability to sleep.
Electrical wiring in the home can also disrupt the balance of the five
elements if improperly placed. Such factors have been scientifically proven to influence the health and disposition of your child. Indoor environmental testing for Geopathic Stress can support your peace of mind and protect you and your baby.
There are several things you can do yourself to make changes that balance your environment for positive results. Here are some actions you can take today that will make a world of difference:
According to Vastu Shastra, the northwest is associated with the air element. To balance this element in your baby’s room, hang a mobile in the northwest corner of the crib. This will help stimulate their ability to learn. Also, fresh air is extremely important for infants and older children. Having the window open, even a quarter of an inch, will help eliminate toxins that can build up and circulate in the air.
Place the crib in the southwest area of room with the baby’s head to the east. The southwest is associated with the grounding energy of the earth element and supports the development of motor skills. Babies also sleep better and have fewer problems with teething in this configuration.
Use a nightlight in the southeast area of your baby’s room. The southeast is associated with the fire element and promotes the growth of visual skills. Balancing the fire element also reduces agitation and helps give babies a feeling of security.
These are just a few steps you can take to create proactive support for your child. All five elements need to be considered and balanced properly to experience the full benefits of Vastu Shastra. It is advisable to have your home analyzed by a qualified Vastu professional.
I can’t say enough about the power and beauty that Vastu Shastra can offer. It is such an impressive tool that can be felt instantly once the environment has been balanced. It affects the most sensitive members of the family first, which means your baby will benefit from the changes made immediately.
