By Ed Pudol
When you're in selling database business, you must consider and remember the
following points before selling or start building your precious
database. Does your database saleable? Where to sell those database? You sell
them for how much?, and finally what type of payment you prefer?
Let's answer these questions one by one:
Does your database saleable?
Before you start building or selling your database you should first consider
this question. Does the database you want to create or sale is marketable? You
can check which database most people looking for, by going to forum.digitalpoint.com, namepros.com,
http://www.buyandselldb.com/forum
, and other webmaster related forums. You can also check how popular your data
at inventory.overture.com, the higher result the better.
Where to sell those database?
You can sell your database at any webmasters related forums, why? Because
most of your customers are webmaster. Webmasters buy database for their new
websites or old sites. Here are some of those forum where you can sell your
database.

You sell them for how much?
This is one of the most reason why database sellers fails, the price of their
database is not affordable. Remember it is easier to sell 100 copies worth $15
than to sell 1 copy worth $100.
But price will always depends on the total
record of the database, structure of the database, and availability of the
database. Meaning the harder to find that kind database the higher price.
Database like recipes, lyrics, and articles are easy to find, you can't price
them high or else you can't sell them.
What type of payment you prefer?
You must also consider what type of payment you will use, right now the
widely use by webmasters is paypal no doubt, so make sure that you can accept
payment via paypal or else you will lost 90% of your prospect customers. You can
also use xoom.com which you can accept payment from paypal members and credit card,
but there is a minimum amount per transaction which is $25. Stormpay.com, not as
popular as paypal but you can use also as an option but little bit expensive
they charge higher than the first two.
