How Two Little Kids Schooled Me In Motivation Techniques
I motivate people for a living, but I got a Hard Lession on Motivation Techniques Here!
To make it quick.
Here's a summary of what I learned
-Make them teach themselves
-People will take advantage of you if you let them.
-Different languages are not always a barrier.

How can these Motivation Techniques Translates into Workplace Motivation.

I have a useful story for you. I hated babysitting my younger cousins.
Remember I love them though. They are my cousins.
They were just a few years younger than me, and they always would depend on me for everything.
For some strange reason, I was responsible to do everything for them.
They would ask me where stuff was and how to do things.
At first I had no problem teaching them these things, but I found out as strange fact once I started to teach them.
They already knew how to do it, and they were using me to do all of their work for them!!!
This had to stop right away.
I changed the situation so that they were teaching themselves and I was just guiding them.
Now, some people say that they are not hands on people and they only learn by listening or reading.
That is fine and good, but it just is not effective.
Here's a well known fact that almost no one really uses, but I exploit in quest to motivating others

Reading has been only popular the last couple of hundred years ago for most of the population.
Oral tradition or telling someone something to instill knowledge is thousands of years old.
Yet, the most effective and oldest way of teaching is by doing.
That was it! The heart of learning and motivation techniques.
Remember, without action there are no results.
If you're like me I procrastinate alot!
Maybe you don't need help with motivation techniques or learning strategies.
Find a way to be Lazy, Procrastinate all you want, and still get the Best Results.
Here's a better story.
Trust me it relates to workplace motivation and learning with different cultures.
It has hands on examples coupled with guidance and experience will cross
all boundaries.
A few years ago, there was an event at the local mall.
There, I learned how to make beautiful origami figures for my girlfriend
from a deaf and mute person. I didn't know any of this from my teacher.
At first, I thought that it was a language barrier issue.
I was ok with her just guiding and helping me through my mistakes.
I was so concentrated on making a perfect swan and rose origami that I didn't see much less read the big sign that said she was deaf and mute.
I did not let these things get in the way of her teachings or my learning.
You shouldn't let any of these facts stop you either.
Learn How Determination is a Key factor in Motivation Techniques.
Well, back to how I made my cousins teach themselves.
I first found something that they wanted to do like eating cake.
I told them that if they helped me bake a cake they could eat as much as they wanted.
Naturally, they made the cake and I just supervised them. I kept an open mind and just guided them.
I always would remind them how good their cake would taste since they made it themselves,
and thus we ever got to the point where they just wanted to quit on me and do something else.
This example can work on adults and not just kids.
Especially with workplace motivation, start with something small, but meaningful to them.
Then give them some freedom for no one wants to be told exactly what to do and when to do it.
Tip: Exercises like these are a sure fire way of gaining trust and authority quickly.
