The Bellagio Hotel - a Palace in the Sand
Prepare to be pampered, exhilarated and thrown back in time at the Bellagio Hotel.
Every year I travel to Las Vegas and try a new hotel. As a travel writer it is a happy perk. The year the Bellagio hotel was built, I visited Vegas three times and could not force myself to stay at any hotel besides the Bellagio. Out of all of the Las Vegas hotels, the Bellagio ranks in my top three.
Why is the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas Rating so high in my opinion? Service, Quality and the determination to do things the right way. When you step into the Bellagio's entrance your feet meet carefully selected marble, high ceilings arch above your head and a carefully trained staff cater to your every need. The sound of Sinatra croons in the background and the choreographed Bellagio fountains literally dance outside. From the food at some of Las Vegas' finest restaurants, like Aqua and Piccaso’s, to the slew of designer boutiques you are spoiled, catered to and allowed to shop, dine and gamble in peace.
Are there slot machines jangling in the background? Of course, it is Vegas after all. Yet there are never any high pressured sales techniques, like attendants constantly checking to make sure that you have a club card, an unfortunate circumstance seen at many other casinos in town.
The only irritation, I found, was that it can take a while for the slot attendants to come and bring you your money. I was stuck at one slot machine, after winning several hundred dollars, and missed a hair appointment at their salon. When I attempted to explain, they informed me that since I hadn't canceled they had charged my credit card and wouldn't return my money. After speaking to the manager, this misunderstanding was corrected and I had the best hair salon experience of my life.
I went in to have highlights put in and was impressed at the way the stylist actually listened to what I wanted, helped me
find a picture of it in a magazine and gave me the exact color I wanted, without damaging my hair. I have been back to the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas many times since and I have to confess that the Bellagio continues to be my favorite hotel in Vegas. Even when I stay at some of the other Las Vegas resorts, I inevitably return to the Bellagio to watch their Cirque du Soleil's show O or to dine at one of their incredible restaurants.
If comfort, luxury and elegance are your criteria for the perfect vacation, I would highly recommend that you try the Bellagio Hotel. If you don't have the chance to stay at this incredible hotel at least tour it. For a small fee you can tour the Bellagio's own personal art gallery, for slightly more you can see Cirque du Soleil's show O or for the low, low price of absolutely free, you can simply walk through it's beautifully decorated hotels and shops and experience the elegance of a time gone by. As for avoiding my slot dilemma at the Bellagio or any of the other casinos, go with a friend or in a group, so that while one sits at the machine the other can go find an attendant or let your next appointment know of your dilemma. This seems to be a common problem at many las vegas hotels, not just the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
Despite this minor inconvenience, the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas still can not be beat when it comes to going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that your next visit to Vegas is your best one.
