Losing Weight Starts with the Soul, Part 1
Working from the inside out to change our bodies and lose weight.
There is one topic I would like to share with everyone that subscribes to this newsletter. It is about the little miracles that I have used for over 10 years. They are called The Bach Flower Remedies.
The Bach Flower Remedies are homeopathically prepared remedies that help to bring the soul –mind, emotion, and will into balance. There are 38 remedies total that help to heal negative emotions like anger, resentment, self-hate, low self esteem, etc… There are also remedies to help with exhaustion, procrastination, boredom, and more.
They are non-toxic and completely naturally. How are they made?
You can go to http://www.bachcentre.com to find out how they are prepared, about Dr Bache, a list of all remedies, contact information for suppliers all over the world and everything else about these little gems.
For the UK the supplier is Nelson Bach at http://www.bachessences.com . This site also contains a wealth of information on the remedies. You can also sign up to receive a free booklet on the Bach Flower Remedies online. International inquiries are welcomed. The US supplier is Nelson Bach at http://www.nelsonbach.com .
The remedies have been used for over 60 and were discovered by Welsh doctor, Dr Edward Bach who did the modern research in the Twenties and Thirties. He wrote that
‘the action of these essences is to raise our vibrations and open up our channels for the reception of the spiritual self’.
The most popular and widely used remedy is Rescue Remedy. This remedy is a combination of 5 remedies: Cherry Plum, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem, Rock Rose, and Impatiens.
Here is a brief description of what each of the 5 remedies properties:
Cherry Plum – For feeling out of control Clemantis – Unconscious or not in the present Impatiens – When you are impatient or irritable Rock Rose – For terror or panic Star of Bethlehem – For shock
I have used Rescue 100’s of times, for PMS, to help cope with deaths in the family, with my niece and nephew’s temper tantrums, and all sorts of “emergencies”.
There have been arguments as to whether these remedies actually work or is it just a placebo effect (believing something will work). A great deal has been written on the Bach Flower Remedies, most of the evidence as to whether they work or not is largely due to experience of users all over the world. However, lately there have been non-traditional studies done with these remedies such as bio-feedback, aura photography. Also, quite a few psychologist and psychiatrists have prescribed them as a catalyst to help with a patient’s counseling with success.
In fact, I have my own story to counter the placebo argument:
My cat when he was young was playing with my blinds and accidentally hung himself from the pully that adjust them. I came in the room just as he started to convulse and released him form the pully. When I put him down on the floor, his body was lifeless and he was breathing heavily, staring straight ahead. I rushed for my bottle of rescue remedy and put just a few drops in some water. I then put a few drops on his mouth and he immediately hopped up and started playing. This was a drastic reaction considering a few seconds before hand he was in a state of shock.
Vets have used them on pets also. They are especially a great benefit to abused animals.
The remedies have been used on plants, animals, and children successfully. Regardless of them whether or not the soul believes it will help them.
Rescue Remedy is a great remedy to start out with. For your weight loss needs, this remedy will give you a calm approach to your diet, help you to control urges, and help relax you when you feel stressed.
In the next issue I will discuss a few of the individual remedies that help you as you pursue your weight loss goal. Also, how to prepare the remedy formula, dosage, and other ways you can use them.
