Just Frickin DO IT! (3) : A Practical Guide to Making Money on The Internet
Copyright © Heba Hosny, eBiz Lover!
http://www.eBizMoneyMagnet.com
Dear Friends,
I wish all of you a happy new. May 2006 bring you abundance and
prosperity.
Did you know that more than 125,000 people start a home-based
business every week? what a staggering statistic!! In other
words, if you're SERIOUS about starting a home-based business,
rest assured that you're NOT alone.
However, another statistic had shown that 95% of these
businesses fail within one year! please don't be discouraged by
this statement. When asked why would anyone start a business if
9 out 10 businesses fail, Robert Kiyosaki, the author of Rich
Dad Poor Dad,replied: "I would start 10 businesses"!! The bottom
line is: there're people who made millions online and offline
and you could be one of them starting NOW if you take the RIGHT
steps.
The focus of "Just Frickin Do It!" article series is internet
businesses. Today, we will answer the most critical question
that you MUST fully grasp whether you're a newbie or a pro: What
Should I do to set myself for success in the world of internet
business ?
1-The key is to FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS. The internet could be a mixed
blessing as an information resource. Why? because there're
millions of web sites out there promising you the world! you
could easily drown under this "tsunami" of information! I'd been
there and my sincere advise is: don't fall into this trap. FOCUS
your research on what YOU want.
Do you have a specific business idea in mind? did you align your
business idea with your passion as we discussed in "Just Frickin
Do it 2"?
If you answered "yes" to the above question, then your task is
easy. Simply narrow your research to the specific business idea
you have in mind and make sure to check out your competitors web
sites thoroughly. Even better, if you found a successful
competitor, MODEL his/her approach while maintaining your own
competitive edge.
Good tips for identifying successful competitors: * If your
competitors invest in paid advertising for a long time, it means
they're getting good business. Otherwise, they wouldn't
advertise so long. * If your competitors rank in the first page
of common search engines such as google and yahoo, it probably
means they're getting massive traffic to their web sites and
hence generation sales. (statistics had shown that 80% of people
rely on search engines to find products/services on the
internet). * Above all, if your competitors web sites are
"sticky". In other words, you were hooked the minute you checked
them because of their rich content or their freebies or both. If
you felt this way, probably other visitors would get the same
impression.
What if you don't have a crystal clear business idea yet? that's
perfectly ok. You need to take some time to explore existing
opportunities and get inspired. If you type "internet business
ideas" on any search engines, you'll find tones of information
but please be warned: SCAMS EXIST! Sad but true!
2- Please do NOT spend a dime of your hard-earned money before
thoroughly investigating any business you want to get into! In
fact, if you're an absolute newbie, you
could start by joining a
FREE affiliate program that offers good internet marketing
training. Why? because the techniques you will learn are
applicable to ANY kind of internet business that you might
decide to build for yourself in the future.
Let me share with you my personal experience, the first online
program I joined had no startup costs whatsoever! In fact, my
sponsor paid my first month membership fee on my behalf. This
way, I had a chance to explore the opportunity and enjoy the
training material with absolutely no obligation! Even better, I
started earning commissions at the first month as a FREE member!
Now, I auto-deduct my monthly membership fees from my
commissions which 're much higher! You see, I didn't put a penny
of my pocket to start making money on this business except for
creating my own web site.
3- Yes, I created my own web site and I couldn't stress more on
how important it's to have your own web site even if you're
promoting other people's products/services. Why? for the
following reasons:
* If you join in an affiliate program, you get a mirror page
including your affiliate ID. How many other mirror pages exist ?
Probably thousands if the program is good enough to attract many
affiliates. Right? mirror pages are NOT search engine friendly!
So, the best way to go is to create your own web page and have a
link in it pointing to your mirror page. * We hear everyday
about programs that starts and ends on the internet. What if for
any reason your affiliate program went out of business, you
would have invested all your time and energy promoting a mirror
page that no longer exists! but if you have your own web site
,and worked hard on marketing it, you could simply remove the
invalid link and still have your OWN web site.
4- I do NOT recommend using FREE hosting web sites like
freewebs.com because your domain name would be:
freewebs.com/yourname.That's not professional at all! The cost
of domain registration and web hosting is now pennies on the
dollar but it will give you a credible business image which is
priceless! Some hosting companies offer affiliate programs.
Currently, I host my web site with a company that gives 10$ per
month comission for every referral! This way, I turned a
necessity, i.e. web hosting, into a profit generating tool.
Before, you host your web site, you need to come up with a
creative domain name. Make sure that your domain name is
eye-catching and compelling and above all a clear reflection of
your business scope.
I hope you found the above tips helpful. Please stay tuned for
the upcoming article "Just Frickin Do it 4" in which I will
discuss "various internet business types and the pros and cons
of each". Until next time, I will leave you with one of my
favorite quotes:
"Whether you believe YOU CAN or can't, you're right!" Henry Ford
