Diabetes: A mortal disease?
Many people around the world do not know about a disease until
that they suffer one, if this is your case, do not worry,
because I'll show you what diabetes is, and its complications.
Diabetes, is a disease that may affect anybody, it does not
respect age, sex and social differentiation. The main factor,
diabetes is a disease that does not permit to body to work
properly, thus, the essential function in our body is: to
produce necessary insulin - hormone that converts sugar and
other foods in energy -. There are two types of diabetes: type 1
- person is completely dependent of insulin -and type 2 -
sometimes is treated by medication.
You should not think that diabetes is only about too much sugar
in the blood, it is more than that, sometimes diabetes may cause
a dangerous disease, such as: heart disease, high blood
pressure, diabetic eye disease, kidney failure, nerve failure,
nerve damage, and slow wound-healing that, when affecting the
lower limbs, may lead to gangrene and eventually leg - or any
parts in your body- amputation.
Usually, many diabetic people develop numbness in their feet, is
normal that they ask theirselves: Why does numbness appear? or
is numbness in the feet harmful?.
The answers about these question, the numbness appears when a
diabetic people careless theirselves to "diabetic neuropathy",
for this reason, diabetic people develop abnormal nerve
function, link with that, might appear erectile dysfunction such
as: dizziness when standing up from lying position, change in
bowel habits and excessive sweating during eating. The numbness
on your feet become harmful, when you have a cut blister or sore
on your feet, and you have a feeling that you may not longer
able feel pain,
moreover, you should not go on with your daily
routine, because might develop cellulitis - inflammation of the
skin -.
Diabetic feet ulcer is the second step about numbness, and is
very complicated too. Ulcer is when the blood that supply your
feet is not the necessary, later your defenses considerably low
and infection grows. If your wound is left to fester, gangrene
will set in. At the end, doctor will have to amputee your leg.
In conclusion, diabetes is a disease that brings you serious
complications, for this reason you must be care yourself. In
