Are you using forums to promote?
Forum Marketing is perhaps one of the best free
promotion tools available on line... and yet most new
marketers have never posted a single "hello I'm here".
If this is your case, my friend, you are losing a lot
of potential free traffic to your site. It doesn't
matter what you sell or promote on line, if you are not
using forums regularly, then you are throwing money on
the wind.
You may have heard a lot of blah blah about forum
marketing, but in fact, the basics are quite common
sense and easy to apply. Before I go on, however, I
must say I don't agree in any way with using forums to
spit up hordes of ads, or to practice awful spam.
A forum or discussion board should be a place to get
along with others, communicate, interact, learn, and
be helpful. Believe me, following these guidelines is
the best you can do for your forum marketing.
The first thing to do when you have something to offer
to the world is look up for forums related to your
topic and niche. The most specialized, the better. Do
I have to say the best place to look is through a
Google search? ("your topic" forum).
Register, browse around and
see what the folks are
discussing about. Introduce yourself, say: "hello I'm
new", or reply to a post requesting for help or advice.
In most forums you are allowed to include a signature
file, this is, a few lines about you or your
business... and yes, a link (make it your sales page
or newsletter sign up). Whenever you post, your
signature file follows, giving you free exposure to
your product...
If you establish yourself as a helpful guy or gal, you
will get traffic to your site from people who think
you can help them. You will also increase your link
popularity and chances that a search engine will find
your site. Most forums keep a huge archive of their
threads on line.
This works wonders, specially when you don't have a
single red cent to spend.
To your wild success,
