Niche Marketing with the Underachiever System
Underachieving is essentially the concept of doing the least work, or at least very little work in the process of trying to gain an income online. With underachieving, one has to target a small sub-culture on the Internet, usually called a “niche”. Niches have specific interests, hobbies, events, conventions and their own obsessions. We then provide a product to these niches in a form where we don’t have to ship it, because remember we are lazy. This product is usually an eBook, which is downloadable Adobe Acrobat file, it can be an MP3 audio interview with an expert in that sub-culture or even a set of downloadable videos, demonstrating tutorials to something that’s related in that niche. With underachieving, we target these sub-cultures because it’s generally easier to penetrate into these markets then larger markets where there are zillions of advertisers and products. Examples of this include mortgages, casinos and debt relief services. These underachiever niches then have to pass through numerous tests in order to qualify for the next stage, which is the “flycatcher”, some of these tests include:
- The Underachiever Niche has to have a fair amount of people interested in it, for example, more people are interested in bird watching then dumpster diving. This test is conducted by using an online tool to see how many searches a particular niche gets each month on the search engines.
- The Underachiever Niche has to have money to spend, because with Underachieving you will be selling them a product with which they need to be able to order online. So this means the Niche should also be prone to using their credit cards.
- There has to be at least SOME competition, this way, because we are lazy, we can see if someone is already making money in that Niche, so we do a test to see if advertisers are spending a fair amount of money to get customers in that Niche online and we see just how many advertisers there are.
After we finish the tests, which there are actually more but that outlined the basics of it, we go on and we FIND OUT what that market wants to know in our future product that we will make.
Now, we could go to the library and do tons of research, or survey these people at some niche convention, but we won’t because we are lazy. So we set-up an underachiever “flycatcher” webpage, on a flycatcher we ask the people in that niche, what do they want to know, learn and find out about something in their niche, and in exchange for their advice, we promise to give them a free copy of our product once its finished.
Now you’re probably wondering what drives these people within that Niche to our website or flycatcher we created overnight. The answer to that is simply: Google. Google has an advertising program, that let’s us appear on the right hand side of search engine results for the particular search terms our selected Niche may search for. The program’s name is AdWords, and one could say that it’s the engine of Underachieving. We pay around $0.05 to $0.10 for every click on our Ad, and that takes the visitor to our website.
So once our flycatcher gets enough traffic from Google, we look around for 100-200 clicks a day, and we get around 1 question for every 10 visitors to our flycatcher, we can essentially say we have a Niche that we can now go ahead and create the product for, and you won’t believe how simple and easy it is to create our product.
Essentially, we hire a ghost writer or someone that will do our product for us, and we can get an eBook done for about $1000, and that’s for around 100 pages of great content, an audio interview for about $200, and a video set for around $200 - $300. Surprisingly,
customers are willing to pay more money for the products that cost us LESS to develop!
Once we have our product finished, we make a direct-mail style sales letter. This can be achieved by spending 1 hour teaching yourself how to use a simple website editor and by spending a few hours looking at Gary Halbert’s direct sales copy “example” and “tutorial” site, best of all it’s free. Gary Halbert is the king of sales copy writing, and you can visit his site at www.thegaryhalbertletter.com
Now that we have a direct sales website ready, we have to arrange for payment processing, this is another extremely EASY thing to do. ClickBank provides us credit card transaction abilities for our electronic products, for $49.95 we can get ourselves an account to sell up to 50 different electronic products. ClickBank’s website: www.clickbank.com
Once we have all of this arranged, we essentially go live with our website, and the traffic comes in and on average about 1 in every 100 to 200 visitors will buy, this believe it or not, can make us from $500 to $1500 in extra profit per month, but it doesn’t stop there. So as you can see, Underachiever Websites are investments that give you unlimited return, let’s look at what we had to spend money for to run an underachiever site:
$20 – Running a flycatcher to find out what the market wants $50 – Getting ourselves credit card payment processing abilities $250 – Audio Interview Product which we own full copyrights to. Total Investment: $320 Now let’s look at the return we get from our $320 investment: Say we get one sale with our product every day, and our product costs $39.95 since it’s an audio interview and has more value. We get around 200 visitors each day to our website, we pay $0.05 per click to Google, and that bring it to paying Google $10 for our traffic to our site. $39.95 (Product Price) - $10.00 (Google Cost) = $29.95 (Our Profit per sale!) $30 x 30 days = $900 PER MONTH! Of Pure Profit! Now, the secret behind underachieving is running MULTIPLE websites like this, look at what happens if say we run more then one and we still earn $900 per month from each site we have: 1 Site = $900 per month of pure profit 2 Sites = $1800 per month of pure profit 3 Sites = $2700 per month of pure profit 4 Sites = $3600 per month of pure profit 5 Sites = $4500 per month of pure profit With 5 Sites, we earn about $54,000 per year, isn’t that amazing? Underachieving is the best possible investment and most simple system to making and building an asset online that gives you consistent monthly return.
