Windows Task Manager: An Overview
Windows Task manager is a powerful tools that provide information about program and processes running on your computer .you can use task manager to monitor, terminate ,access programs that are currently running can also, view graphs on CPU and memory usage and denote some data.
In addition, if you are connecting to a network you can see how is your network works by viewing status information according to that .Also ,if you have more than one user connecting to your machine you can know how is connecting to network ,what he/she working, and send message for them.
Quick Access:
The most common way to gain access Task Manager is pressing Ctrl>Alt>Delete, it will bring the Task Manager dialog box.
Here are some other methods to quick access to Task Manager:
1.Press Ctrl>Alt>Delete.
2.Press Ctrl>Shift>Esc.
3.Right click task bar, select task manager .
4.Greate a shortcut:
1. Right click on desktop.
2. Select New>Shortcut.
3. Type Taskmgr.exe in the text box.
4. Next, then press Finish.
5. Try the new icon.
The Five Tabs:
1.The Application Tab: Shows all the application you are currently running.
By this tab you can:
1.End Task.
2.switch task.
3.new task.
This tab also shows the application you are running and its status.
2.The Process Tab: This tab give more details information maintain about the process that is running currently on your computer it displays:
1. The user account under which the process is running.
2. CPU usage.
3. Memory
usage by the process.
4. End process option.
5. Page faults
When you select process tab four columns will appear.
3.The Performance Tab: This tab displays CPU, memory usage and other counters, such as numbers of handles ,threads ,and processes.
4.The Networking Tab: It provides simple graphical representation for your network adapter. to view quality and availability of your connection. with this tab flexibility you can add additional option by selecting the select columns option.
5.The User Tab: displays all users who is logged on your machine functions by the user tabs:
1. Send message to user currently logged on your computer.
2. If you have the required permission, you can log users off.
3. Disconnect other user network connection.
Task Manager Works As Start Menu:
You can shut computer down, log off, stand by the machine and restart it by pressing shutdown menu in task manager.
What Can You Do By The Task Manager:
1.End Programs:
Application Tab>Click the program you want to end>End task.
Note: Any data newly entered or modified in the ended program will be lost if you do not save it before.
2.Switch to other program:
Application>Click program you want to switch to>Switch To.
3.Specify columns handing:
Process tab>View menu>Select Columns>Check box that you want to add>Ok.
