Complete As One
A study to encourage those who are single. Being complete has everything to do with God and nothing to do with a mate.
Being single is thought of by many people as being incomplete. Even those of us who are single, often feel incomplete without a mate. In Genesis 2:18 says, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." Alone means without aid or support. Meaning that it was not good that Adam should take care of the garden and the animals, etc. without any help.
So God gave him someone to help him. Nowhere did He say that Adam was incomplete. Complete means having all necessary parts or elements. His reason for creating Eve was not to complete Adam, but to give him someone to help him do that which he was instructed to do. Adam had everything he needed, to be who he was BEFORE Eve, he just needed help to do what he was instructed to do. When God gives you instructions that require the help of another person(s) to carry them out, He will also give you that person(s).
"Where there is vision, there is provision!"
God will not give you a task to do that you are not able to do. If you are a single Christian then you have everything you need, to do what God instructed you to do and to be who God created you to be. Psalm 139:14 says, "For I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works." Marvelous means of the highest kind or quality : notably superior. Does that sound like we're missing something? No it doesn't. When we are made, we are made SUPERIOR and just the way He wants us. We were born with EVERYTHING we need to walk in our destinies. Ephesians 1:11 "...for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will" (AMP)
What God has chosen for your life was chosen before the foundations of the world, for His purpose and according to His will. He has already worked out how you are going to do it, with whom you're going to do it (whether by
yourself or with the help of another), when you're going to do it, and where you're going to do it. Seek to know HIS will concerning your life!
A spouse was meant to be a help meet, or one who is a companion and helper, NOT one who completes you. We are complete when we have accepted Jesus into our lives. Colossians 2:9,10 confirms that. "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power" and Colossions 4:12 states, "that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God."
"Being complete has EVERYTHING to do with God and NOTHING to do with a mate!"
