1-800 I'm calling Heaven to talk to Mother
How do we face a day set aside for Mothers when the woman who brought us into this world has been taken from this world. Ask those who have already been down this road and they will tell you that it is a very lonely time.
For those of...
Being an Adult
I have always thought that grandparents were the icons of wisdom, the “go to” person with he answers, the epitome of patience. When I was young, I often thought, “When I grow up, I want to be like Grandpa”. I looked forward with anxious anticipation...
Disappearing Act
A visit to an old friend at a nursing home reminds me of the true value to be found in friendship.
Civilization is a stream with banks. The stream is sometimes filled with blood from people killing, stealing, shouting and doing the things...
Going Seamless: Dissolving the Brain Divide
Are you a right-brainer or a left-brainer?
The greatest thinkers are at a loss when it comes to answering that question.
Just as we admire athletes who are able to hit a tennis ball or throw a javelin with either arm, we should

PLEASE DON’T SHATTER MY DIAMOND

Moms Have Dreams Too!
It is so easy when we are concentrated on being a good mom and wife, to forget that we are also individuals. Individual women who have dreams.
Dreams. I have always been a dreamer. The cool thing is that so many of my dreams have become a reality. I don't know if it's because of my positive attitude or my stubborn will.
But one thing I have learned in my life is that dreams are very important. Everyone has dreams. And if you take the dream out of the person - the person withers away. You lose a sense of yourself - your soul so to speak.
It is so easy when we are concentrated on being a good mom and wife, to forget that we are also individuals. Individual women who have dreams. It doesn't matter what your age is or where you are in your life. I think that anything is possible. If you are 23 or 62, it is still possible to make your dreams come true.
What is your dream? Is it a dream home with acreage and horses? Is it to be a writer? How about to paint or travel? Whatever your dream is, I encourage you to pursue it with passion! Now, granted, being a full-time mom
can take a lot of possibilities and put them on the "hold" table. But there are still ways for you to pursue your dreams even with young children in the house. If you want to be a writer, you can write articles, poetry, etc and submit them during nap times or when the kids have gone to bed. Work up to your novel or full-time status. If you want to paint, encourage your children to sketch and paint alongside of you. Take a night class once a week. The house? Well, drive around on weekends and scout out the areas you like. Start a special savings account that the whole family contributes to. There are so many ways to make you feel like you are making progress and working your way to that special dream.
Dreams are important. They are vital. Dreams add joy to life. So, don't lose yours ok?
