Tops Interview Questions for Jobs in Big Coampanies
Interview is basically a series of questions asked from the
interviewee to test his ability, wisdom and personality.
{Interview-boards of many big companies also have an expert who
can understand human psychology, and who is capable enough to
read the mind of a candidate by studying his body language).
We can divide the expected question in three categories: 1.
Questions relating to personal information of a person (family
background, interests, education, experience etc.); 2. Questions
relating to his knowledge about the work he will be responsible
for in the company; 3. Questions to check the personality of a
person - his nature, ideology, decision-making & problem-solving
ability etc.
Companies may have different set of questions according to their
work culture. However most of the question are related to the
categories of the questions given above. Some irrational
questions are also asked by some interview boards. Don't panic
in such a situation. Maintain your self-confidence and answer in
a simple and straightforward way. Interview board may be
checking your psychological structure. If you get irritated or
try to be over smart you will definitely be discarded from the
list of expected winners.
It is easy to answer the question relating to your family,
study, future planning etc. Here I am discussing some important
questions whose answers must be well-thought and need
preparation.
1. What should you tell us about yourself?
Possible Answer: - I am graduate of .......... University. I
completed my post graduate diploma in Marketing Management from
YMCA. I worked in ABC International for three years as Marketing
Executive. I was able to motivate my team in such a way that we
mostly achieved more than our target. I always want to do
something more for the company I am employed by.
2. What motivated you to join our company?
Possible Answers: - I think I shall get a good environment in
your company that nurtures growth and talent development. -
Mental faculties of a person develop in a right working
environment. I have heard that your company provide such an
atmosphere that helps the employees to work to the best of their
capability. 3. Why do want to leave your present job/company?
Possible Answers: - New ideas are not appreciated there. The
company is resistant to change. It causes job dissatisfaction. -
There is no scope for promotion or progress. - I like challenges
but my present job doesn't provide any..
4. What are your strengths/positive traits?
Possible Answers: - I am able to learn everything very fast. I
am competent and disciplined. - I am enthusiastic and know how
to motivate people. - I can take quick decisions under touch
circumstances. I don't lose my nerve. 5. What are your
weaknesses/negative traits? Possible Answers: - I am
over-concerned regarding the quality of my work. - I
may lose my
sleep if I make some errors in my work. - I don't feel
comfortable in parties and functions.
6. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Possible Answers: - Working happily at a senior position in
this company. - Marching with the company like a determined
soldier to scale new heights of innovation and progress. -
Working harder in this company for further promotion and
achievement. 7. What did you like/dislike about your
present/last job?
Possible Answers: - I like/liked the other persons of my
department. - I like/liked travelling and meeting new people. -
I dislike/disliked resistance to new ideas. - I feel/felt uneasy
at the limited opportunities for advancement/promotion.
8. Give me an example of a time when you made a mistake. What
was it and what were the consequences?
Answer: (You have to write an example from your personal
experience)
9. Did you ever try to give a new idea to your boss that
benefited the company or your department? Answer: (You have to
write an example from your personal experience)
10. Were your ethics ever tested? What was the situation and
what did you do?
Possible Answer: - One of the employees tried to lure me with
an offer of extra monthly income if I could share some secret
information in my computer. I condemned him hard for his
attitude. I firmly told him that it was better to resign from
one's post than to deceive the company. He appologised and
promised that he would reform himself.
To gain confidence you must write your own answers and rehearse
them with your friends, family members or in a training
institute. Speak the truth otherwise today's lie may cause
trouble for you in future. Your answers must be relevant to the
post you applied for. Long and irrelevant answers definitely
irritate an interview board.
